PRICING GUIDE
How Much Does IT Support Cost in NYC? (Pricing Guide)
GEEK-AID pricing for Manhattan and NYC-metro businesses and households: what unlimited monthly support costs, what remote-only and hourly service cost, what changes the number, and what to watch for in a cheaper quote.
Here's the number most IT companies make you sit through a call to get: unlimited on-site and remote business IT support from GEEK-AID® runs $89.95 per employee, per month. If you only need a remote helpdesk, it's $39.95 per employee, per month. On-demand hourly service is $139/hour (one-hour minimum, then 15-minute increments), or $295 for the first hour if you need a technician on-site. We publish these rates on our IT Pricing page because "call for a quote" wastes everyone's time.
The three ways we price IT support
Fully managed unlimited service. One flat rate per employee, per month, covering on-site visits, remote support, security and malware protection, and 24/7/365 on-call access. This is the plan most small offices land on because it removes the incentive to put off a repair.
Remote-only helpdesk managed service. A lower monthly rate that covers software, WiFi, email, password, and slow-computer issues remotely. An onsite visit is billed separately when one is needed.
Hourly, on demand. No contract. Pay for service as you use it, billed in 15-minute increments after a one-hour minimum. Usually the right call below about four employees, or for a one-time project.
What you'll actually pay
Using our published rates, here's what a small office pays per month at four common headcounts:
| Employees | Unlimited Plan ($89.95/employee) | Remote Helpdesk ($39.95/employee) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 employees | $449.75/mo | $199.75/mo |
| 10 employees | $899.50/mo | $399.50/mo |
| 20 employees | $1,799.00/mo | $799.00/mo |
| 50 employees | $4,497.50/mo | $1,997.50/mo |
Remote Helpdesk requires a five-seat minimum and a 12-month agreement with monthly autopay; an on-site visit charge applies if a technician needs to come to you. Outside the 5–150 employee range — fewer than five or more than 150 — call for custom pricing, since per-seat economics shift at both ends. Each server counts as one employee seat.

| Service | Cost |
|---|---|
| Remote service — residential or commercial | $139/hour + tax |
| On-site service — residential or commercial | $295 first hour + tax, then $139/hour + tax |
On-site travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx is built into the first-hour rate. Bergen County, Westchester County, and sections of Nassau County are in our service territory with an additional travel fee quoted at scheduling. The hourly rate covers labor only — software licenses, parts, and hardware are billed separately, and we don't currently accept drop-off repairs. Travel to your NYC area location is included for fully managed service clients.
What moves the number
- Headcount at the edges. Under five employees or over 150, the flat per-seat rate stops being the most economical structure — call for a custom quote rather than defaulting to the published rate.
- After-hours emergencies. We're available 24/7/365, but emergency service requested outside Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–7 p.m. can carry an additional charge, quoted at the time of the request.
- Location. NYC boroughs are covered in the standard on-site rate. Bergen, Westchester, and Nassau add a travel fee.
- Parts, hardware, and software licenses. Never bundled into the hourly or monthly rate — you're quoted those separately, so there's no markup surprise buried in "unlimited."
- Contract length. Remote Helpdesk requires a 12-month term; the Unlimited plan can be structured monthly or yearly, and multi-year terms are sometimes priced differently — ask for the yearly quote if you're planning to stay put.
How to read a cheap quote
You'll find IT support quoted well under $89.95 a seat elsewhere. Some of that is a genuinely different service scope; a lot of it is missing pieces that show up on the invoice in month three. The anatomy is usually the same: security and malware protection is an add-on, on-site visits are billed separately from the "unlimited" plan, there's a setup or onboarding fee not mentioned on the call, and after-hours support carries an undisclosed multiplier.
The question that cuts through it: "What's not included in this monthly number?" A provider that answers in one sentence is telling you the truth. One that needs several follow-up calls is telling you something else.
Startup and non-profit pricing
New businesses less than a year old get 40% off the first yearly service contract. Registered non-profits get a standing 25% discount off regular rates with proof of non-profit tax ID and current IRS status. Ask about either when you call — they're not automatically applied to the standard quote.

Frequently asked questions
What's the minimum number of employees for the Unlimited plan?
There's no strict published minimum, but pricing outside the roughly 5–150 employee range is handled as a custom quote — call for special pricing if you're smaller or larger than that.
Does the monthly plan include hardware and software?
No. Both the Unlimited and Remote Helpdesk plans cover labor, support, and installation — software licenses, hardware, and parts are quoted and billed separately.
Can I switch from hourly to a monthly plan later?
Yes. Many clients start with hourly or remote support for a single issue and move to a monthly plan once they know their support volume. Call to discuss switching.
What areas do you serve on-site?
Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx are covered at the standard on-site rate. Bergen County, Westchester County, and sections of Nassau County are served with an additional travel fee (for hourly clients) quoted at scheduling. Travel to your NYC-area site is included for fully managed clients.
Is there a discount for startups or non-profits?
Yes — 40% off the first yearly contract for businesses under a year old, and a standing 25% discount for verified non-profits.
